Tell us about your background and how you became what you are today

The main driver to who I am is my family upbringing and good choices along the way. I answered the call to ministry late in life.

Tell us about a typical weekend service

Corporate worship in the main sanctuary, then group children in a kid-friendly space. Greet kids & introduce the main point. Let the kids know about future activities. Introduce the Bible verse that supports the main idea. Tell Bible Story and support it with object lesson and video. Close and minister in prayer. Review game. Then dismiss to open activity.

Tell us about your weekday ministry opportunities

I pray every other day with staff on the needs of the church. Wednesday I minister to the boys through Royal Rangers.

What apps, gadgets or tools can't you live without in ministry?

Computer and corresponding software, sound system, display system ie, flat screen, cell phone & a kid-friendly environment.

What's your best ministry advice?

Work as a team. Find a way to lead people into fulfilling their call. Be ready to minister to more not less.

Tell us about your ministry team and how you rely on them

I have a diverse group of men, women & pre-teens. I assess their gifts, challenge them to be more, then open up opportunities for them to use their gifts.

How do you keep track of your time and manage your ministry?

Pre planning & communicating the plan is the key. Update your leaders weekly and communicate future plans.

What do you do to be refreshed or renewed?

I take one day a week that my day to be with my family, wife, or alone time to recharge.

What are you reading right now? or what do you recommend?

Cultivating Christian Character by Chuck Lormis.

What is the best ministry advice you have ever received?

Be yourself. Do not try to emulate some else. Do not try to emulate another church. Your church is unique to your community.
