JBQ Basics helps children in Kindergarten through 6th grade begin to develop a love for the Bible and an understanding of its basic truths. It teaches them to participate in a simple, competitive way and prepares them to move on to Junior Bible Quiz if they wish. Unlike JBQ, it is not a national program and is only offered through the Wisconsin/Northern Michigan Ministries Network. The JBQ Basics season involves only three meets in the year. At the end of the season, all quizzers are recognized for their involvement.
As in JBQ, children work together on teams to learn and understand the questions and answers from the Bible Fact-Pak which is available from MyHealthyChurch.com; however, study is limited to only the 10-point questions. Refer to the schedule in the list of downloads below for the correct question sequence. The questions studied in JBQ-Basics one year are the same ones that the Junior Bible Quiz program studies the following year. This helps them have a more successful start in JBQ if they choose to advance.
The JBQ Basics Guidelines and current forms will be available for the new season. Those who are serving as helpers/judges at the meets must take the online officials test--see details on the information page below. All helpers/judges should score at least 80 percent prior to the first meet in which they serve. Re-take the test until you achieve the passing score.
