Missions – The Fred Deaver Gift

This print now hangs in my office. It is a painting by Fred Deaver who was instrumental in establishing Royal Rangers. Fred was an incredible artist. This was given to me last week by Paula Sherman Gamm, the widow of our previous District Royal Rangers Director, Chuck Gamm. Knowing this was framed, hung, and cherished by Chuck moves me. Chuck was a good friend of Fred Deaver.

What this image reminds me of is the importance of missions and inviting boys and girls to partner with God in reaching the world for Jesus. Missions is the heartbeat of God.

This picture shows a Royal Ranger boy with BGMC - Buddy Barrel in hand and the influence and impact that praying and giving and going can make in the world.
I recently read this sentence from Doug Marsh, Royal Rangers International Director. "Missions is how you invite your Rangers into the heart of God".

Wow, if we want to disciple boys and girls to be world changers for God, we need to involve them in missions.

Thank you Paula Sherman Gamm for gifting me this painting. As I look at it each day now in my office I am inspired to equip boys and girls for the mission.

I was going to post an image of just the print. It is so beautiful. But this picture shows me in the reflection of the boy giving. I see this as my place. I am here to be in the background inspiring others to find their place in God's Mission. I feel a part of it.
